How to Cook Dailymeal Corn Rice in a Rice Cooker so It's Fluffy & Not Hard
Posted on December 22, 2025
Many people want to switch to corn rice for health reasons, but back off for one reason: Fear of cooking it wrong.
The image of traditional corn rice that is hard, dry in the throat, or takes hours to steam often becomes a barrier.
The good news is, Corn Rice Dailymeal is different. Thanks to modern processing technology, this corn rice is specifically designed to be cooked as easily as regular white rice using a home Rice Cooker.
Follow this step-by-step guide to get fluffy, soft, and fail-proof corn rice results.
Preparation Before Cooking
All you need is:
- Rice Cooker (Any brand).
- Dailymeal Corn Rice.
- Clean water.
IMPORTANT: Dailymeal Corn Rice is processed hygienically in the factory. You do not need to wash it repeatedly like regular white rice. Washing it too much can actually dissolve some important nutrients.
Cooking Steps (Rice Cooker Method)
Step 1: Measure Rice
Put 2 cups (rice cooker measuring cup) of Dailymeal Corn Rice into the rice cooker pot.
Step 2: Add Water (The Key to Fluffiness)
This is the most crucial part. The water ratio for Dailymeal corn rice is slightly different
from white rice.
- Basic Formula: 1 cup rice : 1.5 cups water.
- So, for 2 cups of rice, add 3 cups of water.
- Tip: If you like softer rice, you can add a little more water (to 3.5 cups). If you like it firmer (e.g., for fried rice), reduce the water slightly.
Step 3: Cook
Press the "COOK" button on your rice cooker. Let the machine work until the lever switches to
"WARM" (Cooked).
Step 4: Resting Process
After the button switches to "WARM", do not open it immediately. Leave it closed for 5-10
minutes.
This process is important so that the hot steam cooks the corn grains evenly to the inside.
Step 5: Fluff (Stir)
Open the rice cooker. You will smell a soft corn fragrance. Stir the rice with a paddle so the
steam escapes and the texture becomes loose (not clumpy).
Warm corn rice is ready to serve!
Extra Tips for Better Taste
- Want it more fragrant? Add 1 pandan leaf while cooking.
- Want it savory? Replace some water with clear chicken broth or add a little coconut oil before cooking (like Nasi Uduk or Liwet).
- Storage: If there are leftovers, Dailymeal corn rice can be stored in the refrigerator and reheated the next day. The texture will not turn into a "stone" like traditional corn rice.
Cooking healthy food doesn't have to be complicated. With Dailymeal, healthy living becomes more practical.
